What I offer

What I offer

I provide a comprehensive, professional, and affordable proofreading service for individuals and businesses who do not have the time or resources to review their content. Whether you're struggling with wording or spelling in digital formats like websites, blogs, and social media, or in printed materials such as leaflets and brochures, I am here to help. You can reach me by email or phone to discuss deadlines and pricing. I look forward to working with you.

QUALIFIED PROOFREADER

I obtained a distinction with a Proofreading and Editing diploma through the Centre of Excellence.

EXPERIENCE

VOLUNTEER PROOFREADER

Last year, I volunteered for an online newspaper, proofreading articles before going to print. This enabled me to start a portfolio of my proofreading work.

ADVERTISING

I was employed by an advertising company to proofread and edit advertisements, using QuarkXPress, before submitting them to The London Gazette and other national newspapers.

I studied and passed my Proofreading and Editing Diploma whilst employed in this position.

MEDICAL

I proofread (sometimes edited) consultants'/doctors' letters in local hospitals before they were posted out to patients, other medical departments, general practitioners (GPs), etc.

LEGAL

The job needed excellent attention to detail for all legal documents, where I proofread letters, emails, and other documentation before distribution.

About Me image
ARE YOU LOSING BUSINESS?!

According to recent research, fifty-nine percent of Britons will NOT use a company that has obvious grammatical or spelling mistakes on its website or in its marketing materials.

Hi, I'm Penny Kelly, a qualified proofreader. My experience and education have deepened my understanding of grammar and the English language. I have honed my proofreading skills in various roles, often in environments where excellent attention to detail was crucial.

I previously worked for an advertising agency, where I proofread advertisements for Deceased Estates and License requests. These adverts were published in national newspapers. Unfortunately, my position ended during the pandemic, and I am now looking to advance my proofreading career.

I have always had a passion for English literature and language, which is why I became a proofreader. Whether it's on social media, in a book, or in a newspaper article, I can easily spot spelling and grammatical errors—it has become second nature to me!

It's essential to make sense of what we read and write, and I would love the opportunity to contribute to this clarity.
